Shared transport works for some logistics businesses, but we believe it is the wrong model for personal pet relocation. The savings come with real risks that are passed on to the animals.

Private pet transport means the vehicle is reserved for your pets alone. Your dog, cat or ferret travels with the same handler from collection to delivery, without sharing airspace, bedding or stress with unfamiliar animals. The route is planned around your schedule and destination, not around a multi-stop itinerary.
Why We Only Offer Private Pet Transport

Mixing pets from different households means mixing vaccination histories, parasite control routines and health statuses. Even with crates, shared vehicles can carry fleas, ticks, respiratory viruses and bacteria between animals. We eliminate that risk by never mixing.
2. Stress and behaviour
Many pets are anxious, reactive, or simply unused to other animals. A nervous dog from one family can trigger a chain reaction of barking, pacing and stress in every other pet in the vehicle. A cat who is calm at home may panic when an unfamiliar dog is loaded nearby. Private transport keeps the environment predictable.

Every PetVoyageUK vehicle is deep-cleaned and disinfected between journeys. Bedding is changed, surfaces are wiped with veterinary-grade disinfectant, and the air system is refreshed. This routine would be pointless if we mixed pets from different households in the same load.

Do you ever make exceptions for shared transport?
No. We do not run a shared service, even if two owners ask to split a vehicle. The only animals that travel together are pets from the same household or bonded pairs booked together.
What if I have only one small cat?
Even a single cat gets the whole vehicle cabin. The price is based on distance, not on filling the van. A solo cat travels in a quiet, controlled space without the risk of another animal stressing them.
Can two families travelling to the same place share to save money?
We do not arrange shared bookings between separate families. If two families each book private transport to the same area on the same day, they remain separate vehicles and separate handlers.
Is private transport always better for brachycephalic breeds?
Yes. Flat-faced dogs and cats need climate control, calm surroundings and close monitoring. Shared transport adds heat, noise and unpredictable animal behaviour — all risk factors these breeds do not tolerate well.
