You do not need to live in London, Manchester or Birmingham to book professional pet transport to Europe. PetVoyageUK collects pets from Newcastle, Cardiff, Plymouth, Norwich, Milton Keynes and dozens of other UK towns, then routes via the Eurotunnel for a stress-free door-to-door journey to France, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and beyond.

Why We Run Collections from UK Secondary Cities

Most of our bookings start in the South-East, but a growing share come from owners who live far from London and do not want to drive their pet halfway across England just to meet a transporter. We solve that by sending a dedicated vehicle to your address, then joining the Eurotunnel corridor at Folkestone, Dover or Ashford. The result is the same service — one handler, climate control, no cargo hold — whether you live in Tyne and Wear or the Home Counties.

City-by-City Guide

Pet Taxi Newcastle to Europe

Newcastle and the wider North East (Sunderland, Durham, Middlesbrough, Hartlepool) are a 4.5–5 hour drive to Folkestone. For Newcastle to Paris the total journey is usually 12–14 hours door-to-door with one or two comfort breaks. Popular onward destinations include Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels and northern Spain via the western French route. Get a Newcastle pet taxi quote.

Pet Taxi Cardiff to Europe

Cardiff, Newport, Swansea and Bristol are well placed for the Cardiff to Paris corridor: 3.5–4 hours to Folkestone, then Calais and the A1 into Paris. South Wales owners also use us for Cardiff to Spain (Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Costa del Sol) and Cardiff to Brittany / Normandy via the western ferry ports if a slower crossing suits the itinerary.

Pet Taxi Plymouth to Europe

Plymouth, Exeter and the wider South West have two natural options. The first is road: we drive east to Folkestone and take the Eurotunnel. The second is the Portsmouth to Caen / Cherbourg / Saint-Malo ferry, which can shorten the drive for western France and northern Spain. We quote both and recommend the best fit for your pet and destination.

Pet Taxi Norwich to Europe

Norwich, Ipswich and East Anglia are closer to Folkestone than many assume — typically 2.5–3 hours on the A12 / M25 / M20. That makes Norwich to Paris a comfortable single-day journey of 9–10 hours door-to-door, popular with owners relocating to northern France and the Paris region.

Pet Taxi Milton Keynes to Europe

Milton Keynes sits almost equidistant between London and Birmingham, with fast M1 access to the M25 and Folkestone. It is one of our easiest secondary-city collections and a common starting point for Milton Keynes to Paris, Milton Keynes to Amsterdam and Milton Keynes to Brussels routes.

How the Journey Works from a Secondary City

  1. Collection at your home: driver arrives in your city with a climate-controlled vehicle.
  2. Drive to the Channel crossing: usually Folkestone for Eurotunnel, occasionally Portsmouth for western France ferries.
  3. Channel crossing: 35 minutes on Le Shuttle, pet stays in the vehicle.
  4. Continental drive: direct to your European address with regular comfort breaks.
  5. Delivery: door-to-door, same handler throughout.

For longer UK legs we sometimes break the collection day with an overnight near the Channel, especially for very anxious pets or multi-day European relocations. This is agreed upfront and quoted transparently.

Documentation: the Same Rules, Wherever You Start

Your UK departure city does not change the paperwork. For EU travel from Great Britain your pet needs:

  • ISO 15-digit microchip implanted before rabies vaccination.
  • Valid rabies vaccination — at least 21 days old, never lapsed.
  • Animal Health Certificate (AHC) issued by an Official Veterinarian within 10 days of travel.
  • Tapeworm treatment for dogs — 1–5 days before UK return (not needed for EU entry).

We can recommend Official Veterinarians in Newcastle, Cardiff, Plymouth, Norwich and Milton Keynes if you do not already have one.

Flying vs Ground Transport from the North or South West

Owners in Newcastle or Plymouth often assume flying from a local airport is easier. In practice that usually means:

  • A drive to the airport with a pet crate.
  • Hours at cargo check-in, then separation during the flight.
  • Another drive at the destination to collect from the cargo terminal.
  • Airline breed restrictions for flat-faced dogs and cats.

By contrast, a ground pet taxi collects from your home and delivers to your European address in one continuous journey. For many secondary-city departures the total elapsed time is comparable, and the stress level for the pet is significantly lower.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you really collect from Newcastle, or do I need to bring my pet to London?

We collect from your exact address in Newcastle or the surrounding area. You do not need to travel to London.

Is there a minimum distance for secondary-city collections?

No formal minimum, but very short local-only journeys may be better served by a local vet taxi. Our quote tool will show whether the route fits our network.

Can one booking combine a UK secondary city with a European destination?

Yes — that is exactly what we do. The same driver and vehicle handles the entire journey from your UK address to your European address.

How far ahead should I book from Plymouth or Newcastle?

2–3 weeks is ideal for international journeys, mainly so your AHC can be issued within the 10-day window. UK-only secondary-city trips can often be booked with shorter notice.

Do you use ferries from Plymouth?

We can route via Portsmouth–Caen, Cherbourg or Saint-Malo for western France and northern Spain if it saves time or suits your pet. The Eurotunnel is our default for most routes.
